![]() "My father is buried at Fort Sam and I buy a wreath for him and several others every year during the holidays. This year I ran late getting there, stood in line to get a couple of wreaths (my dad's is usually placed already since he is near a wreath point) and thought I will have these extras to lay down as I head to where my dad resides. As I was walking, I came across a mother and teenage son looking quite distressed standing near their husband/father's headstone. The woman, in tears, said she didn't know she had to buy a wreath ahead of time. This is where my extras came in handy. I handed her and her son a wreath, one for their loved one and one for them to share with someone else. A hug was shared and as I continued to make my way to my father's site, I ran into another family visibly distressed. Again- same story. Again - tears and hugs. This continued several more times. By the time I reached my father, my wreaths were gone; but as I suspected there was already one on his site. I had carried the exact number of wreaths needed. Thanks, Wreaths Across America - Official Page."
